Import variations

Paste PGN below — one game per variation, or one file with many. Each one becomes a variation, named from its opening, and lands unlearned so nothing is scheduled you have not agreed to. Nothing is saved until you press Import.

Pasted a whole page rather than clean PGN — a Chessable chapter, headings and buttons and all? Press Find the lines in this and the chess is pulled out of it: every candidate is replayed through a chess engine before it is offered, so what you end up importing is only what is actually legal. You still say White or Black, once, for the whole paste.

Where do I get the PGN?

Chessable has no export button, so the moves have to come out of the page itself. The short way:

  1. Open the course and press Study or Learn so the move lists are on screen, and open the chapter you want.
  2. Select the whole page — Ctrl+A — and copy it. Headings, buttons, comments and all; none of that matters.
  3. Paste it here and press Find the lines in this. Everything that is not chess is dropped, every line that is left is replayed to check it is legal, and lines that are only the first few moves of a longer one are dropped as well.
  4. Look at what it found, say White or Black, and press Import.

The long way, one variation at a time, still works: right-click the move list and choose Copy PGN where it is offered, and paste as many as you like into this box at once.

Lichess: a study's ⋮ menu → Export all chapters gives one PGN file with every chapter in it. Open it in Notepad and paste the whole thing.

Chess.com: Library → a collection → Download PGN.

ChessBase or SCID: save the selection as .pgn and paste its contents.

Headers are ignored except for the name, so a file straight from any of these works as it is.

Intense Mode

A sitting made only of Difficult variations, in rounds. Get to the end of the list and it does not stop — every variation you did not review perfectly comes round again, and again, until all of them are clean. Levels work exactly as they do in an ordinary review.
